The Long and Rambling Backstory
Did you know that ShowMojo has a Request a Feature page where you can add and vote on new features?
It’s a list that matters. Our Mobile App for Showings used to be at the top of that list. That got done. Then there was Two-Way Text Messaging. Done. And the current occupant at the top of the list is (was) Text Message Current Occupants about Upcoming Showings.
Can we be frank? We were never totally comfortable with this feature request. We’re already miffed that Comcast, Kaiser Permanente, T-Mobile and the Museum of Ice Cream (yes, that DOES TOO exist) text message the boogers out of us whenever they get lonely. The last thing Team ShowMojo wants is to become the service half your residents fear and loathe because we’ve turned their smartphones into a text spittoon.
The Feature Announcement
This morning we have rolled out all-text-based showing notifications that your residents can opt into.
Not only that, residents:
- Can choose how many days in advance they receive notifications (but never less than what is specified on the listing).
- Have access to alter these settings whenever they please.
- See upcoming showings in real time — at any time.
Consider this Gordian knot sliced. And that’s one more top-of-the-pile feature request delivered.
How to Get Started?
Oh. Oops again. We don’t need this section. There’s nothing you need to do. As of this morning, your residents started receiving an additional link in their emails that gives them access to all these features.
Was that too uncomplicated and overly simple?
One More Thing
While we were at it, we added a feature to automatically stop sending showing notifications when the resident is supposed to have moved out. That move out time is based on the listing’s available date. This is an optional feature. Check out our KnowMojo article to learn more: Showing Notification for Current Tenants, Owners, and Others.
And, yes, that’s another feature request knocked off the list.
